To Rose Hill Acres Officials, 

I just want send a special word of thanks for the excellent work you all do in guiding and advocating for your community.  Obviously the last five or so years have been tremendously challenging with the floods, the hurricanes, and the damage they’ve caused.  But your committed leadership deserves to be recognized and appreciated. 

All of you have contributed, and in particular Alderman Cindy Mason and Mayor David Lang deserve tremendous thanks for their work.  As time goes on I hope to share examples of how much they have already done and how well they have done it.  And all the rest of you have done your part and exhibited excellent judgement and guidance.  Additionally, Troy Whitehead and his engineering group and Kate Spitzley from our staff have also put huge effort into jumping through the constantly changing hoops and staying on track towards the goal.

Most importantly, I sincerely hope the GLO is now more than ever focused and working with a sense of urgency on the roads/infrastructure and housing/acquisition projects.  They’ve encountered many challenges themselves and in certain ways their job is not easy, but again I’m hopeful they have the tools they need to quickly move forward.

We’ll keep you posted on any major developments, and I plan for this to just be the first of a series of briefings as the projects continue to unfold.
